Top Squash Academy in Canada
Under the leadership of Marco Toriz, Head Coach and Owner, Vancouver Squash Academy has established a proven record of excellence. Over the past 8 Canadian Junior National Championships, our athletes have earned 25 national titles, including 4 historic gold medals at the Canada Winter Games, along with multiple international achievements at the highest level.
Our players are consistently recruited by leading universities and compete in Varsity Squash programs across the United States and Canada, representing institutions such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Brown, Stanford, Amherst, Williams, Haverford, Bates, Bowdoin, Rochester, Franklin & Marshall, University of Toronto, McGill, and Western University.
We are widely recognized for having one of the strongest and most established networks with college coaches in the U.S. and Canada, providing our athletes with direct exposure, guidance, and support throughout the university recruitment process.
Internationally, our athletes have achieved podium finishes in major tournaments worldwide, including Opens in the United States, Hong Kong, Japan, Scotland, Canada, and the Pan American Games, as well as a historic Top 3 finish at the World Junior Championships and a Top 6 finish at the British Junior Open.
What makes us different?
We are the only junior squash program in British Columbia that develops the majority of its competitive players entirely in-house. We build champions from the ground up.
Rather than recruiting ready-made competitors, we focus on long-term athlete development. From beginner to elite, we guide our athletes through every stage of their journey — culminating in National and International Championships and clear pathways to College Squash.
This long-term model fosters a rare and powerful bond of trust between player and coach. That trust is not just valuable — it becomes critical when pressure is highest and careers are defined on the world’s biggest stages.

Ocean Ma, Spring Ma, Hermione Cao and Maria Min made history at the 2024 World Junior Team Squash Championships in Houston, winnnig a bronze medal to become the fist Canadian team to win a medal in the Championships. In addition, all four athletes, who had joined a year earlier to win gold at the Canadian Games 2023.
